The description below is directly from the owner.
This Roadster was lovingly maintained for over 30 years by a very picky owner. When I bought this car I said to myself “How can I keep it looking like this for a long long time and realized it would have to be babied and cared for extremely carefully. Luckily it was never in an accident or fender bender. My goal was to keep it as original as possible for as long as possible. Any problems or issues were corrected using the best possible parts, original if obtainable. It has seldom been driven in the rain and always garaged.
Ultimately I would love to see this car go to a collector. I can’t take it with me so it might be best to let it go now.
The car has original paint, original top and original interior. I have all original documentation from new including the protecta plate, when & where purchased and all the booklets. The glass and chrome are very fine. Everything on the care operates well. The undercarriage is absolutely clean and looks like a one year old car. The battery is not original but a company in the U.S. said they could find me one. At 50,000 miles I rebuilt the rear end, changed U-joints and 4 shocks and front end suspension pieces. I also purchased a new overdrive transmission. The starter was rebuilt in 1986 and the alternator was re-done in 1988. I chromed the air breather and valve cover back in 1980 to dress up the engine compartment a little. (Original painted ones are easy to obtain.) Also about 20 years ago I purchased new 72 spoke chrome wire wheels and mounted new Michelin red line tires. I have the four original wheels mounted on Michelins and they are in great shape. When I washed and waxed this car which was a lot, I would always wax inside the trunk, engine compartment and bottom of the doors, etc. It has the original AM-FM radio it came with when purchased new. I have both covers as shown in the pictures as well as the complete car cover. The carpets lasted well because I had mats on top of mats. The seats are fine without rips, tears, etc. The car was never smoked in. The brakes were original until last year when I replaced the front pads and rear linings. The car has 59,125 actual true miles.
So if you are serious about purchasing a real clean original (except for additions as noted) Triumph TR6 Roadster then this one might be for you.. I also have another complete rear end, numerous brand new parts plus the 4 extra Michelins on factory road wheels. .
In closing I have to say that this is no easy decision and I will more than likely be heart broken to watch it leave my garage. I can only hope someone as picky as me or a true collector buys it. Asking $ 25,000. . Thanks.
